WELCOME TO BOSCO ENGADINE JUNIORS

We are one of the many sporting clubs associated with the St John Bosco Youth Centre that formed in 1964 to promote cultural, sporting and social activities for the youth of Engadine and surrounding districts.  From its humble beginnings the Youth Centre today is the largest single provider of sporting activities for the Engadine/Heathcote area.  Current activities which the Youth Centre promotes for all ages from juniors to seniors are Cricket, Summer Soccer, Oz Tag, Basketball, Gymnastics, Baseball, Softball, Netball, Hockey, Soccer, Rugby League & The Father and Son Camp. Membership and registrations will exceed 6000 this year over all activities promoted by the Youth Centre.

The St John Bosco Engadine Juniors competition has been running in summer at Boystown Oval Engadine since 2000 under licence from Australian Oztag Sports Association.  In 2011 we had 137 teams from the ages of 6 to 18 playing every Tuesday night in 64 games spread over 5 time slots.  The first games commenced at 4:15pm and our last time slot started at 7:15pm finishing at 8:00pm.

We had 34 referees on our roster, 20 of who are qualified Rugby League referees from  Cronulla Sutherland District Rugby League Referees Association.  Five of our referees have also refereed representative state and national tournaments.  Mitchell Floyd, who is our most capped referee, has also refereed International and State of Origin Oztag tournaments.  Our objective is to provide the highest quality of refereeing in the code and moving forward, will give preference to referees who have completed the AOSA and or the CSDRFLRA Referees course.

Our 2012 competition will start on Tuesday the 4th of September and end on Tuesday the 18th of December.  The Under 8's competition don't play Semis or Finals and their last round will be played on the 11th December.

We have entered teams in most divisions in the Junior State Cup since it's inception.  In past events, the teams that participate from Engadine Bosco Juniors are generally those that win the Grand Final in their respective divisions with the exception of the Under 16's who are selected based on skill and form.  Junior State Cup is a very competitve and prestigious event and winning the title for all Associations is the culmination of their Oztag season.

Bosco Engadine Juniors is a non-profit organisation.
